Support for special guardians

Being a special guardian means you might need help while you care for a child. We are here to help you and can provide support throughout your journey, including to the wider family.

You can ask for support anytime, including an assessment to explore your family needs.

Online support is available through  which includes:

  • information online 
  • training
  • resources
  • support groups

When social workers or courts make decisions about their children's welfare, the  advises parents, grandparents, relatives and friends about their rights and options.

Subscription based organisations that provide a range of support to carers of children who have experienced trauma:

  • . - empowering trauma-informed families, schools, and communities
  •  - become part of a supportive community dedicated to empowering parents of children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences or whose children present with neurodivergent characteristics.
