About special guardianship order
A special guardianship order (SGO) is a private law order that allows another person to become a child鈥檚 鈥榮pecial guardian鈥�.
The SGO is for children who do not live with their birth parents.
This order enables the special guardian to make important life decisions for the child.
A support plan will be available once the order has been granted.

You can ask for support anytime, including an assessment to explore your family needs.

When social workers or courts make decisions about their children's welfare, the advises parents, grandparents, relatives and friends about their rights and options.
